The NEHDS Story

NEHDS has been a premium logistics company since 2007, specializing in delivery, warehousing and inventory management, and currently operates eight Class A dedicated and co-mingled depots, and over 250 late-model trucks. While NEHDS has become a significant presence in the Northeast, servicing large, national retailers as well as regional and specialty stores, our beginnings were humble, and we still strive to retain that same attention to detail and roll-up-your sleeves attitude.

NEHDS was born of necessity, with one truck and a single delivery team, founded by Gerry Burdo, Brian Jordan, Fred DiMaria and Vin Becker, all of whom remain part of the company’s management team and active in daily operations. NEHDS’ founders owned a furniture retail business and understood the need for a quality, professional delivery provider to service their valued customers. From this single truck, NEHDS has developed into the pre-eminent final mile provider in the Northeast, with a heritage in the furniture industry unmatched by the competition.

Our CEO, Gerry Burdo, knows just about every one of the 500 NEHDS employees by name.  Why is this important?  Because we take pride in not only being a reliable delivery partner, but one that also cares about its employees. The result is strong company morale, less turnover and very happy customers.

Our company’s heritage began as a small business with relationship-based practices. We know the companies with whom we work and develop an understanding of their products and business objectives and, in turn, provide the most professional delivery solutions and quality warehousing services for those we serve. We not only focus on continuous improvement of service to our valued partners, but also passionately support worthy causes. To date, NEHDS has raised over $250,000 for pediatric cancer research. We are proud of what NEHDS has become and honored to be growing alongside our incredible customers.
